Recipes - Apple Chips

Large mixing/serving bowl
Dehydrator, OR baking sheet (preheat 200°F oven)

Ingredients:
6-8 apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark per taste)
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp ground cloves

Directions:
Toss all ingredients together in large bowl until everything is thoroughly and evenly coated.
Allow to sit for 20 minutes or until sugar begins to liquify.
Toss again to ensure even coating.

Lay slices in a single layer in the dehydrator, OR
    Lay slices in a single layer on baking sheet and place in warm oven with the door slightly open to allow moisture to escape.
Allow slices to dry until all moisture is gone and the slice snaps when bent.

Put slices into freezer bags, expelling all air.

We have stored them for more than a year in the freezer with no loss of quality or taste.
